Blood Chemistry Analysis
Overview:
Standard blood chemistry testing is a striking
diagnostic tool for the clinician, but the limitation of the test is in failure
to blend the sciences of clinical chemistry and medicine. Thus blood chemistry
analysis, in its present form, is an untapped reservoir of highly valuable
information in regard to the individual patient. Combining research and
computers makes this wealth of information inexpensive and readily available
through BodyBio. All a practitioner needs is to order a standard blood test
(see required artifacts) and have the results sent to BodyBio to receive a
BodyBio Report to clarify what nutrients their patients actually need.
The BioCell Blood Chemistry Report provides health care practitioners
with all the information needed to quickly and effectively determine
biochemical imbalances, unique nutritional needs, drug interactions and
appropriate food choices for patients. BodyBio uses the results from a standard
blood chemistry lab report and explodes them into a 15-25 page comprehensive
nutritional report that is both diagnostic and prescriptive. We apply a
patented computer based system to link blood chemistry/complete blood count
with an extensive medical data bank to provide a graphical report that is easy
to read and interpret, providing one copy for the practitioner and one for the
patient.
Our patented BioCell database is comprised of the
latest medical and biochemical research available. Data has been gathered from
over 300 medical manuals, including The Physician's Desk Reference, Merck
Manual, Harrison's Principals of Internal Medicine, Modern Nutrition in Health
and Disease, Principals of Pharmacology, Present Knowledge in Nutrition,
Nutrition and Metabolism in the Surgical Patient, Advanced Nutrition and Human
Metabolism as well as over 30,000 peer reviewed papers from the medical
literature.
BodyBio accepts blood chemistry / complete blood count
results from labs all over the world. We work closely with large national labs
like LabCorp and Quest as well as smaller labs so that inexpensive pricing is
available to practitioners and patients for lab results.
Our Blood
Chemistry Report includes the following results: · Chemistry Panel-Chem

In addition to the more
traditional lab results provided in each Report, and noted above, the highlight
of the BodyBio Report is the Metabolic Pharmacology (nutrient support section).
It is an in-depth, 3-dimensional analysis of each individual's chemistry and
makes recommendations individilized nutritional intervention per lab results.
To date, no one in the medical industry has focused on blood chemistry as a
storehouse of individualized medical information to the depth that BodyBio has.
The BodyBio medical data management system serves to blend the work of
professionals across the fields of science and offers the practitioner detailed
supportive medical data about the individual patient. Once the patient's blood
chemistry lab results are forwarded to BodyBio, they are run through the
BodyBio medical data system and a Report is generated. The BodyBio Report
provides the clinician with a panoramic view of the patient's body systems.

Outline
of the Report:
The Blood Biopsy Overview Section
The Blood Biopsy Overview is the main page showing the entire list
of lab results along with: the lab ranges, the % deviation high (H) and low
(L). The results are presented graphically for an easy to view depiction of
each artifact. This provides an optimal or earlier warning notation to permit
prevention rather than wait until a crisis occurs. The BodyBio Blood Biopsy
Section lists all the blood chemistry/CBC artifacts of the test in alphabetical
order. These give access to an item you want to review quickly and efficiently.
The left side of the page shows a graphical representation of the test Report.
The bar graph uses the same concept of % Status depicting a visual bar graph
representation of elevation and suppression.
Using the % Status along
with the bar graph you can quickly ascertain those artifacts that are either
High or Low in respect to the mean. This gives a more precise view of a
patient's chemistry at time of the test for close scrutiny. Sequential blood
tests on a patient can also be easily examined in this format.
At the
bottom of the page of the Blood Biopsy Labwork are two figures that help to
ascertain the overall balance or imbalance level of the patient's chemistry.
The Total Status Deviation is the mathematical average of all the artifacts and
the Total Status Skew shows the average direction of the changes, negative or
positive. When the Total Status Deviation is over 25% this signifies that the
average of all the artifacts in the test is deviated more than 25%, which is
significant and warrants attention. Over 50% signifies a critical situation
that should be viewed with some sense of urgency.
The Bio Systems
Analysis Section
The Bio Systems Analysis portion of the BodyBio
Report breaks out the results into a component subset panel presentation of
systems of the body. Pictorial and descriptive data is given as indicated for
assessment of the following:
- Cardiac Risk
- CNS Function
- Gastrointestinal Dysfunction
- Lipid Metabolism
- Hormonal Status
- Renal Function
- Hepatic Involvement
- Toxicity Aspect
- Hematology
- Immune Function
- Nitrogen Retention
- Cellular Distortion
Using the " % Status " the practitioner may review
each subset or body system in regard to a patients' chemistries / CBC and
isolate areas that need intervention. A graphical representation and numeral
representation of the data is offered within each subset panel as in the
overall biopsy. The Panel Status Deviation is the mathematical average of the
artifacts in each subset and the Panel Status Skew shows the average direction
of the changes, negative or positive.
The Disease Pattern Matching
Section
Using the world's body of medical research, primarily from
the American Clinical Chemists, the Merck Manual and Harrison's Principals of
Internal Medicine, BodyBio has found a method of isolating disease patterns
through the use of the % Status concept. Clinical chemists have reported that
disease entities often have blood chemistry patterns, some unique, some similar
in definition to others. Our Report attempts to check a patient's current blood
chemistry results against the vast body of medical knowledge in a detailed and
informative fashion. The disease pattern matching system does not offer either
disease probability or diagnosis, but it is a tool to allow for further
investigation of problem cases. Because diagnosis is clinical analysis, this
feature is available only in the physician copy of the Report.
The
Drug Interactions Section
The 'Reported Pharmacological Effects on
Blood Chemistry Artifacts' flags drug interactions and potential problems in
regard to individual blood chemistry results whereby continuation of that
medication may tend to aggravate the deviation of the blood chemistry and / or
increase negative effects on a patient's blood chemistry. This section (usually
one page) permits a quick scan to see how the drug or drugs affect each
individuals chemistry and whether that drug will aggravate the chemistry. For
example, if a patient's Report lists aspirin, it indicates that studies have
shown aspirin may lower an individual's white blood cell count. At this point,
the health care practitioner may check how many artifacts aspirin has effected
and ascertain whether the patient is at risk by taking aspirin, or if the
result has been impacted by the actual use of the listed drug (aspirin). The
physician may then seek other treatment modalities.
The Metabolic
Pharmacology and Nutritional Intervention Section
The Metabolic
Pharmacology section is the primary clinical tool in the BodyBio report
revealing disturbances in the patient's chemistry that may be responsive to
supplementation of electrolytes, minerals, enzymes, fatty acids, vitamins and
amino acids, and supportive nutritive to help support a patients' biochemical
imbalances or deficiencies. Each biochemical adjunct is described in scientific
terminology. Patricia Kane, Ph.D. has spent the past 20 years developing the
basis for this particular section. This is the heart of the BodyBio report. Dr.
Kane is a superb researcher but most important is that her research has always
focused on natural essential nutrients: Essential fats, protein, vitamins, and
minerals. Taking her life's work and downloading it into a computerized format
so that now an individuals biomarkers can be feed into a huge database of over
30,000 research papers and in the blink of an eye identify exactly what
nutrients they may need to their improve health. Pharmacological / Nutritional
Biochemistry is one of the fastest growing areas of medicine and our database
is continually being updated as new medical research comes to light. -The
Patient Nutritional Intervention/Patient Summary Section Appropriate nutrient
intervention is suggested in this section as Digestive Support, Nutritional
Support, Nutrient Rich Foods Recommended, Foods / Nutrients to Avoid. Nutrients
are prioritized with a star ranging from ½ star (less needed) to 4 stars
(more needed) rating. The greater the number of stars the stronger the
biochemical match to the patient's chemistry and complete blood count. (i.e.
the greater the nutritional need.) Different forms of one nutrient may appear
such as Magnesium Glycinate, Magnesium Carbonate, and Magnesium Citrate. The
form of the supplement suggested, however, is as important as the nutrient
itself. The main concept to remember is one of balance. Nutritional
intervention for the patient is detailed in the Dietary Focus section with
detailed explanations of foods to incorporate into their diet, convenient
healthy foods, foods to avoid, and appropriate dietary changes that will guide
the patient towards good health.
The Practitioner Medical
Overview/Chart Notes Section
Dietary Repletion is reviewed with
overall patient instructions for physician's chart notes. Acute status
artifacts (sharp deviation of blood chemistry and complete blood count results)
are depicted with full disclosure from the clinical chemist's perspective for
the practitioner's review. Panic values or gross alterations requiring the
immediate attention of a physician are also noted.
The field of
Evidence Based or Biological Medicine is the fastest growing area of medicine
today and is long overdue for serious consideration. There is more supportive
research available today than ever before from around the world and growing at
an exponential rate. Keeping up to this exciting wave of information is what
BodyBio is all about.
